URRIS HILLS RIDGELINE WALK

 

Access: The grotto at the top of Mamore gap (marked with a green point above (OSI map 3, grid ref C319 429)) has parking available and allows more experienced hikers to access the Urris hills and climb along the ridgeline. Although not signed or marked, there is a track to follow once you climb to the ridgeline heading in a SW direction. If you have the luxury of more than one person in your group driving, it is recommended to park one vehicle at the end point (marked in red above, grid ref:    C293 391). If not, there are still many options to explore Urris hills and take in some of the notable features it has to offer while returning to your initial starting point.

Difficulty level: Moderate to Difficult - Good level of fitness required, appropriate footwear and hiking equipment should be worn.

Total distance: 6.84km (For the route highlighted above)

 

Estimated time to complete above route: Allow for 3.5hrs, dependent on fitness levels and weather (Allowing for lunch as well)

 

Total climb ascent/altitude gain: 345m
